Ben has more than 20 years of human factors experience, the majority focused on enhancing operational and business excellence.

He has specialist experience working with high performance civil and military teams, including race car drivers, fighter combat instructors, submariners, principal warfare officers and clearance divers. Based on this experience, he knows the practical and pragmatic human factors and human performance programs that enable personnel, within both their professional and personal lives, to build and enhance habit patterns for high performance.

The successful outcomes of his work are empowered individuals and teams capable of delivering innovative projects to achieve behavioural and cultural change and to ultimately create high reliability organisations.

A leader in risk and human factors strategies, Ben supported the development of international safety standards now used in global aviation, including Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) Standards. He is one of Australia’s most senior human factors specialists in the field of applied human performance within error intolerant, tightly coupled workplaces. Ben has delivered real improvements to help elite military teams, as well as personnel within industrial and other transport industries, to do the best they can with what they’ve got – with the goal to improve their performance.

Ben stays aligned with contemporary best practice via access to a diverse range of human performance industry leaders, including a partnership with US-based Dr Tony Kern, Matt Hall Racing (Australian Red Bull Air Race Team), FRMS and Human Performance Investigation Specialists, and elite military units.
